Noticeboard
- WORKSHOP and COMPETITION: SUPER8
Comma Club are following the lead of http://www.straight8.net, a brilliant competition in which entrants are given a sealed analogue film, and told to produce an unedited short.
What is Super8?
You know those bits in movies where the lead is watching old home videos and sobbing into her big pack of Kettle Chips? The ones with beautifully saturated colours and sunbursts, and soft focusing and refocusing. When you watch them, you’re immediately sucked back into the 70s… There’s no way to edit the film, so it must be shot in the order of the scenes.
HERE’S a lovely example from a Goldfrapp video:

How do I enter?
Email curator@commaclub.co.uk. We’re going to show you the basics, and lend you cameras. We’ll even buy the film. Your team just has to pay us £25 to cover costs.
What’s the prize?
If you enter, your film will be shown at a special screening this Trinity. The winner will receive a beautiful camera and projector set.
